Terms and Conditions

Version 2026-09-23. Please read your content and confidential information before you upload anything sensitive.

These terms are an agreement between you and [company legal name and address] ("CiteJury", "we"). By creating an account, uploading a document or starting a check, you agree to them. If you use CiteJury for an organisation, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.

1. CiteJury is in beta

CiteJury is still being built. Features may change or be removed, and some things may not work as expected. Don't rely on CiteJury as your only check for anything important.

2. Your account

Keep your sign-in details secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account. You must be at least 18 to use CiteJury.

3. Your content and confidential information

"Your content" means the documents, text, questions and follow-ups you give CiteJury. You keep ownership of it.

Only upload or paste what you're allowed to share. Before you upload, check your contracts and your organisation's policies. Don't upload:

• information you've agreed not to share with third parties, such as client material under a confidentiality agreement,
• personal data about other people unless you have a lawful basis to share it,
• passwords, payment card numbers, health records or classified information.

You allow us to use your content only to run, show and replay your checks, and to give you support when you ask for it.

To run a check, the text of your content is sent to the AI providers you've turned on in Settings (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT, xAI for Grok). The support assistant also uses Claude. Search queries based on your content are sent to third-party search services.

We don't keep the file you upload. We keep the text taken from it, the results and the sources, so you can reopen and replay your checks. They stay until you delete your account.

We don't use your content to train AI models. Our staff look at your content only when you ask for support, when it's needed to fix a problem, or when the law requires it.

Each finished check has a share link. Anyone who has the link can open that check and its sources, but not your follow-up questions or the rest of your document. Share links aren't listed or indexed by search engines. Don't share a link to a check that contains confidential information.

4. How we handle your data

We collect your account details, your content, your checks and results, your billing history, and any support messages or ideas you send us.

We share data only with the services that run CiteJury: the AI providers and search services above, Paddle for payments, Cloudflare for delivery and security, and Amazon Web Services, where the service and its data are hosted in the United States.

You can delete your account in Settings, which deletes your checks and documents. To ask for a copy of your data or to correct it, contact [contact email].

5. Acceptable use

Don't use CiteJury to break the law, to harass anyone, or to publish results in a way you know is misleading. Don't try to reach other people's data, overload or scrape the service, get around credit limits, or copy the service.

6. Credits and payments

Checks use credits. The amount depends on how much work a check needs, and you'll see typical costs before you start. We hold an estimate while a check runs and return what isn't used. Failed checks cost nothing. Credits you buy don't expire. Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and handles tax and receipts. If something went wrong with a purchase, contact us. You can set a monthly limit in Settings.

7. Results and accuracy

Results are produced by AI from web sources, and they can be wrong or incomplete. Each result links to its sources so you can check them. Results aren't legal, financial, medical or other professional advice. You're responsible for what you publish or decide based on them.

Company lists come from what the search found. They aren't complete, and a company being listed isn't an endorsement.

8. Feedback and feature ideas

If you report a problem or suggest a feature, we may use your idea to improve CiteJury without owing you anything for it. Don't include confidential information in feedback.

9. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Unused credits are lost when you delete your account, so use them first. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

10. Liability

CiteJury is provided "as is" during the beta, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Changes and contact

If we make important changes to these terms, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they apply. These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. Questions: [contact email].
